Start with where people will see it
The right business sign depends less on taste than on where your customers are when they need to find you. Drivers on a busy road need something tall or close to the street. Shoppers walking a plaza need your name over the door. Visitors inside your building need help finding the right suite. Answer that first and the choice of sign gets much easier.
Raleigh Sign Solutions has made signs in North Raleigh since 2009. We design them, take care of the permit, build them and install them, so you deal with one team from the first conversation to the day the sign goes up. If you don't have a logo that works on a sign yet, we can design that as well.
Signs for the outside of your business

Monument signs
A low sign at the road or entrance in stone, brick or stucco. Best when your building sits back from the street.

Storefront signs
Letters, panels and graphics over your door, so people in the plaza know which space is yours.

Channel letter signs
Individual lit letters on the wall or on a raceway. The standard in shopping centers.

Illuminated signs
Every lit option, from light boxes to halo-lit logos, for businesses open after dark.
All exterior signs
See every outdoor sign type in one place, including pylon, blade and post and panel signs.
Signs for the inside, and the extras

Interior signs
Lobby logos, suite signs, wayfinding and ADA room signs.

Acrylic and PVC signs
Clean cut signs and letters for reception walls, doors and outdoor panels.

Banners
Quick, affordable signs for openings, sales and events, or to cover the wait while a permanent sign is permitted.

Logo design
A logo built to work on a sign, a truck and a business card.
Where most projects start
- Opening a new location
- Usually a main exterior sign, something on the door or window, and a banner to cover the gap until the permit clears.
- Rebranding
- New faces for existing cabinets, new letters, and interior signs that match the new logo.
- Replacing a tired sign
- Sometimes a repair or an LED upgrade buys years more. Sometimes a new sign makes more sense. We will tell you which.
- Moving into a shopping center
- The landlord sign rules set the limits. We design inside them and handle the approval.

Business sign questions
How much does a business sign cost?
It depends on the type and size. A simple PVC sign can start at a few hundred dollars, a post and panel sign around $1,500, and a small storefront set of channel letters at a few thousand. Custom lit stone or brick monuments usually run $5,000 to $25,000 or more. You get a free written quote first.
What kind of sign is best for my business?
The one your customers can see from where they are. A building set back from a busy road usually needs a monument or pylon. A shop in a plaza needs a storefront sign. We recommend options after looking at your site and your landlord or town rules.
Do I need a permit for a business sign?
Most permanent exterior signs need a permit in Raleigh and the surrounding towns, and many landlords and HOAs have their own approval step. We handle the permit and the approvals.
How long does it take to get a sign?
Most monument and lit signs take 4 to 8 weeks. Interior room sign orders usually take 2 to 4 weeks from approval, and most banners are ready 3 to 5 business days after you approve the proof.
Do I need to bring my own artwork?
No. We can build the sign design from your existing logo files, clean up a logo that does not work at sign size, or design a new one from scratch.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in North Raleigh and work across the Triangle, including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Holly Springs, Garner, Morrisville and Fuquay-Varina.
