Signs that belong to the place
An entrance sign tells people they've arrived and sets the tone for what's behind it. The best ones don't look added on. They're set into a stone wall, mounted on a pillar or hung from timber that matches the property.
We build entrance signs for neighborhoods, HOAs, apartment communities and businesses, plus architectural lettering for building fronts. We work in natural stone, carved HDU, brushed aluminum and bronze, and we take care of the permit, the footings and the lighting.
Entrance signs also have to last outdoors for years with little upkeep. That means choosing finishes that hold up to North Carolina sun and rain, and sizing the lettering so it reads from a car at the speed people actually drive past your entrance.
Kinds of entrance signs we build

Stone wall plaques
A carved or cast plaque set into a stone or brick entrance wall.

Entrance monuments
A freestanding sign built to match the architecture of the community behind it.

Panels on stone bases
A sign panel framed by stone or brick, for schools, offices and communities.

Timber frame signs
A carved sign hung in a heavy timber frame. Warm and rustic, popular with neighborhoods.

Entrance sign questions
Do neighborhood entrance signs need a permit?
Usually, yes. Raleigh and most nearby towns require a permit for permanent ground signs, and your HOA may need to approve the design as well. We handle the permit and can work with your board on approval.
Can you replace just the sign on our existing entrance wall?
Yes. If the wall or pillars are sound, we can replace or refinish the plaque or panel, update lettering, and add or upgrade lighting.
Can an entrance sign be lit?
Yes. Ground spotlights are the most common choice for stone and timber signs. Some designs can be lit from inside or behind.
What materials hold up best?
Stone and brick last as long as the property. Carved HDU looks like wood or stone but will not rot, and aluminum and bronze hold their finish for years.
How long does it take?
Most entrance signs take 4 to 8 weeks from the first visit to installation, including the permit.
What areas do you serve?
We're based in North Raleigh and work across the Triangle, including Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, Apex, Wake Forest, Holly Springs, Garner, Morrisville and Fuquay-Varina.
